Ohio Big Man Adding Offers

Kenston (OH) offensive tackle Sam Coverdale put himself on the recruiting map by having an excellent junior season in 2011. Coverdale has attracted double-digit offers, and more could be headed his way.

Sam Coverdale is one of the top offensive linemen in Ohio, and the three-star tackle out of Kenston continues to add offers, with West Virginia being the latest.

"I was excited to get the West Virginia offer, and I'm looking forward to visiting there," Coverdale stated. "They are moving to the Big-12, which is really great. They were in my school to see me work out last week, and they offered that night. They had my film, but wanted to see me in person. This is an offer I'm going to consider strongly."

With 11 offers, the 6-foot-7, 280-pound, tackle knows he has tough decisions ahead of him. Coverdale is also hearing from other top programs and his offer list could increase.

"Northwestern is a great school and I love the coaching staff," he explained. "The academics are second to none, and that's what I'm looking for. North Carolina State has a great engineering program, and I'm getting to know their coaches. Louisville and Cincinnati are two other schools I'm considering strongly."

"Vanderbilt really interests me as well, and I'd love to have that offer," he added. "Both of my parents graduated from Vanderbilt, and I'm going to be going down there soon. I'm just looking for the right fit, both with the coaching staff and the academic side of things. Right now, I'm just trying to get better in every part of my game, and I need to get more explosive. I'm being recruited as an offensive tackle by all these schools."

The 2013 prospect also indicated he is in no hurry to make his final choice, and will take his time finding the right school.
