It did not take long to notice Paris out on the field. The tall, rangy corner prospect sticks out like a sore thumb standing over receivers he makes look small. He has long arms, but plays low and is able to get in and out of his breaks quickly. He is also a physical player and in drills he was one of the most spirited players on the field and a guy that got his teammates fired up to compete. He will turn out to be one of the most highly recruited players in the state.
Texas A&M, UCLA, Clemson, LSU, Ole Miss, Purdue, SMU and Washington State have already stepped up to the plate with offers. Nebraska, Washington State, ULM, Boise State and others were seen watching him intently on the practice fields Monday.
Trevor Walker – DB – 2013
Walker plays safety, but has the skills to be a lock down corner in college. He is also a vocal leader who is stepping up in a major way. He has made a commitment to play at Washington State, who was in the house to watch him on Monday, and a number of other top schools are still watching closely.
He was not saying anything about the status of his commitment to Wazzu when making the following statement, but wanted to stress to his teammates he was about taking care of business for them first before worrying about recruiting.
"I am committed to Mansfield Timberview football," Walker shouted out on the practice field! "I am committed to 16-0!"
Brandon Simmons – DB – 2014
Simmons plays next to Walker at safety, creating a very formidable duo. Simmons is very physical and aggressive at the position and his tape shows that he is not afraid to come up and initiate contact. His play in person backs up those same qualities that he shows on tape. He has a nice frame and he is only going to continue to become more and more of a force as he fills out.
Schools like Ole Miss, Purdue, SMU, Temple and UCLA have already stepped up to the plate with offers and others join them in the future.
Damian Walker – LB/FB – 2014
Paris and Simmons have grabbed many of the early headlines for the Class of 2014, but keep a close watch in this guy. Walker is a mean spirited type of bruising player. He is the guy who you just love to watch play football and bang dudes around on the field. He is valuable as a linebacker, but has the frame, size and disposition that would look really good lead blocking. Give him an assignment and watch him blow guys up.
Purdue is his first offer. Maybe that is what they have in mind for him as well. Illinois could be next.
Nick Jim-Lawson – DE – 2013
He is still a bit on the skinny side right now, but has a great frame and looks like he could grow in to a real monster – sooner rather than later. He looks to be right in the middle of his development on and off the field, but going forward he could be a commodity that college coaches will want. He fires off the ball quickly and appeared to have some very strong hands, prying linemen off their blocks. A solid year on the field in a tough district could open up doors.
