Dayton (OH) Dunbar defensive lineman Jarrod Clements had big news to report when he spoke to on Tuesday night.

"I'm good," said Clements. "I've just committed to Illinois today. It just felt right and you know when you get that feeling that it's just right, well it just felt right."

At 6-foot-3, 260-pounds, Clements had picked up offers from Louisville, North Carolina State and Toledo to go with Illinois. But it was the Illini that Clements said was the perfect fit.

"I feel it's a great fit," said Clements. "Looking at the recruiting class and how it is going, it looks like we're going to get a great class. I wanted to be part of the new dynasty of Illinois football."

Clements lead recruiter was Alex Golesh and when told about his decision the Illinois recruiting coordinator and staff were excited.

"Everyone was excited and I was excited to tell them," said Clements. "They see me playing defensive end and that was what I was looking for. I can't wait to get a chance to go up there this summer."
