Arizona Recruiting Update: 5/2

Four players get new offers including Hayden Johnson's first FBS offer, Grant Martinez's 6th offer, Jordan Schlueter's 1st, Tyler Bruggman's 10th and Devon Allen adds offer #21.

*Peoria Centennial offensive tackle Hayden Johnson tells that he has received his second scholarship offer, his first from a FBS program.

Johnson says, "Wyoming offered me today. It was kind of a funny story. I guess the coach from Wyoming told Coach Taylor (Centennial HC) and he told a few other players before he told me. A bunch of guys were coming up to congratulate me during practice but I didn't know what they were talking about. Then Coach Taylor came and told me the news. It is very flattering to get an offer from them. I am supposed to call the coach tonight and talk to them."

Johnson (6-5 260) also has been offered by South Dakota State.

See his junior highlights below:

*Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep TE Grant Martinez received a new offer, his sixth overall.

The offer comes from Colorado State according to NDP head coach Gary Gregory.

Martinez (6-5 215) also has offers from Rice, Army, San Diego State, Duke and Oregon State.

Martinez  caught 36 passes for 411 yards and 6 TDs as a junior.

Below is a link to his junior highlights:

*Colorado State didn't leave Notre Dame without being the first school to offer 2014 prospect Jordan Schlueter.

Gregory says, "Coach Baldwin from Colorado State was very classy when he came to the school today. They loved Grant and when he was there Jordan caught his eye. Baldwin has been around some big time football programs and said he trusts his judgement and says that Jordan has a verbal offer from them."

As a sophomore on varsity last season, Schlueter (6-2 180) made 92 tackles and 1 INT.

*Phoenix Brophy Prep QB Tyler Bruggman tells that he received his tenth offer this evening. He says via text message, "Iowa State just offered."

Bruggman (6-2 190) also has offers from UCLA, Indiana, Washington State, Michigan State, Arkansas, Arizona, Purdue, Arizona State and Colorado State.

Bruggman threw for 2,497 yards and 37 TDs versus just 2 INTs as a junior.
