"It's my dream to play at Virginia under Coach London," said Levrone. "I didn't think I would end up there, and when I took a trip up there two years ago, I fell in love with it and the relationship I have built in such a short amount of time."
Levrone converses with London periodically, but has established a tighter bond with Coach Poindexter along with current players like E.J. Scott and Vincent Croce from his hometown. However, the recruiting process isn't done until he signs on that dotted line National Signing Day. It's anyone's game and just several days ago, USC jumped into the fray.
"While on the recruiting circuit Coach Tee Martin was at my school. We were working out and he loved what he saw - how I ran my routes. When he got to California he had a coaches meeting. Then he did a conference call with me and they offered me."
How does this effect his current commitment status with Virginia?
"Well, when you get an offer from USC you want to take a visit, and that's something I would have to discuss with my family and with coach London. UVA has been my dream, but it definitely boosts your confidence to get an offer from USC."
UVa is his dream school for a number of reasons. As he said earlier; he fell in love with the campus and the coaches. "I also want to be near home, so if there's an issue, I am only three hours, and family can come to my games."
Early playing time played a role in addition to the level of talent UVa has acquired in recent years. "They got that quarterback from Alabama who just transferred there. He was the number one quarterback out of high school, so they are on the rise."
The Cavs appear to be in the clear, for now. Levrone plans to be back in Charlottesville this summer and for the Fall 2012 season. Stay tuned for more.
