Linebacker taking his time

Linebacker Brett Wade has an Arizona offer, but there are plenty of other schools involved as well. Read on for his thoughts on the recruiting process, when he will decide, and more.

The state of Texas is maybe the preeminent hotbed of high school football talent in the country.

Rich Rodriguez signed three talented players from Texas in his first recruiting class, and it is imperative for Rodriguez and staff to continue to successfully recruit the Lone Star State.

Kennedale outside linebacker Brett Wade is one of the better prospects in the state and is being heavily recruited. The UA staff is recruiting Wade, but he will be a very hard pull.

"I've got a lot of offers right now," Wade said. "There are a ton of schools right around Texas that are recruiting me pretty hard. Different schools have different things to offer, so there is a lot to think about.

"I've heard from the Arizona coaches, but it's been a while. I have a lot of schools to look at, including them."

Wade will work on making his college selection in the following months, but will also look to improve on the field.

"The next few months are pretty important for me," Wade said. "I want to improve myself this next year, but also make sure I find the school that is best for me. I want to find the right school for academics, atmosphere and football.

"On the field, I just have to work hard this summer. I want to get as strong as possible while continuing to improve my lateral quickness- pretty much do everything to improve myself for next year and for college. It helps that I see so many good players all the time, and it really keeps me motivated to keep up with everyone."

Wade is taking the recruiting process one step at a time.

"I'm definitely taking the next step in the recruiting process," Wade said. "My visits have gone well and I just need to make sure I make an informed decision."
