Irish Visit 2014 QB

A year ago John Wolford had enough interest in Notre Dame to spend three days at the Irish summer camp. Wednesday, Wolford got a in-school visit from the Irish. Will he return to camp this summer? has the latest.

With family ties to Notre Dame, John Wolford of Jacksonville (FL) Bishop Kenny High School has always dreamed of guiding the Irish. Wolford updated mutual interest after an in-school visit by the Irish on Wednesday.

"Coach (Scott) Booker stopped at school and told me how they would like me at their camp this summer," said Wolford. "I attended their three-day camp last summer just to see Notre Dame, but understand (assistant) coach (Chuck) Martin is now the quarterback coach. So I'm going to figure out a day to come up for a one day camp at ND so he can see me throw."

What did coach Booker say during their conversation?

"He just gave me the basic information about camp and that they'll be back in touch," said Wolford. "He also explained he's the new area recruiting coordinator for the Jacksonville area. So he just basically said that to me and I felt we had a good talk. He's a great guy and very charismatic and easy to talk to. So I'm looking forward to hopefully talking with him more."

The 6-foot-2 quarterback is looking forwards to a busy summer schedule.

"Right now we've got to sit down and target the schools that are most interested and the ones I personally like," said Wolford. "But I can see it being 15 to 20 camps when all is said and done."
