**We went to the South Panola vs N’ West Rankin game yesterday and we will provide a photo gallery belowand later on we will have some highlights from the game.
**It was like a whose who list of former South Panola players that attended the game as I spoke to LB Qyen Griffin (LA Lafayette), S Darius Barksdale (LA Lafayette), RB Nick Parker (Ole Miss), DT Issac Gross (Ole Miss), LB Temario Strong (Ole Miss), WR/DB Nickolas Brassell (Ole Miss), OT Jermarcus Hardrick (Nebraska), DT Terrence Pope (USM), and OL Quinn Sanford (N’ East CC).
**Just think about this list of players that have come out of this school all in the few years.
Qyen Griffin started at running back at La Lafayette and then switched to LB and earned the starting job there as a true freshman.
Tig Barksdale is now at La Lafayette and made a 3.5 while taking a redshirt in the fall. He is the starting safety now for Lafayette and we hear that his quickness is back and he is a man amongst boys right now.
Nick Parker will be in the rotation at Ole Miss next all in his sophomore season.
Nick Brassell started both ways as a true freshman at Ole Miss.
Issac Gross and Temario Strong finished their classes yesterday and will report to Ole Miss on May 28th.
Issac Gross is at 268 right now and said they want him playing at 295 in time. He ended his season at 245 pounds and has put on 23 pounds in the offseason and said he hopes to report to Ole Miss at 275 and get up to 285 by fall.
Temario Strong weighs 228 pounds right now and ran a 4.52 yesterday while testing on the South Panola field.
Jermarcus Hardrick earned the starting job at tackle in his first season at Nebraska and was a two year starter.
Terrence Pope finished his USM career as a four year starter and earned All-Conference honors. He is trying out for Edmonton in Atlanta tomorrow and will be back home for his mother by Sunday for Mother’s day. He has already earned his degree and will walk on Saturday at Southern.
Quinn Sanford has had a few bumps in the road since signing with USM. He sat out a couple of seasons battling the NCAA clearinghouse. Played at N’ West CC last fall as a freshman and has transferred to N’ East CC.
All in all, these South Panola players have had a lot of success since graduating
from the “U” and are on track to becoming successful people.
**N’ West Rankin had their starting QB Reid Humphreys, RB Ramon Nash, WR Jekory Triggs, and defensive tackle miss the jamboree because they are playing baseball. Those are pretty much their best players but there is a CB named Julian Jackson that really caught my eye.
Julien is very fast and looks to be about 5’ 10”, 170. He’s a ball hawk who intercepted three passes in the game. He will be one to keep an eye on.
**S Tony Conner had a pick for a 50 yard TD, 3 sacks, and 5 tackles from behind the line of scrimmage in one half alone. They have him playing outside linebacker now which is getting him way more involved in the game than playing safety.
Safety in high school is like a centerfielder. They put them about 25 yards deep to just cover the long balls and that simply was taking Tony out of the game too much and is a very good move by Coach Pogue.
**Deon Mix was mowing people over all game and looks lighter on his feet this season.
**IF you are looking for future stars at South Panola look no further than RB LaDarius Henderson who is a rising sophomore and another tailback named Tavian Bibbs. He is a rising junior. Both are very good looking prospects.
**South Panola received a transfer from Jr/QB Rip Kirk (6' 5", 225) from Tunica academy. He is a big strong kid who has a big arm. Last season the Tigers had nothing that resembled a signal caller and it cost them the state championship.
We predict Rip is the difference between them having a season like last season (10-4) and making another run at an undefeated season.
**The colleges in attendance were LSU, Ole Miss, and Memphis.
