Passing Down 7on7: All-Tourney Defense

Here's a look at the top defensive performers at the Passing Down Southern California 7 on 7 Regional Championship.

Passing Down 7on7: All-Tourney Defense

Defensive MVP: Su'a Cravens, Frat Boys
Safety, Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta
Sometimes, players with big reputations fail to live up to them when you see them in person. Cravens is the complete opposite. He has actually exceeded all expectations and when you're arguably the top player in the region, that's tough to do. He was the best overall player in the event and it really wasn't close.

The Next 11:

Darius Allensworth, Frat Boys
Cornerback, Menifee (Calif.) Heritage
Physical corner who made several nice plays on the ball. Has a thick frame and looked very good in press coverage.

Treshon Broughton, Game Changers
Cornerback, Tustin (Calif.)
They don't come much tougher than Broughton who completely locked up his side of the field all day. A player with legit BCS talent.

Jayon Brown, Impulse 55
Linebacker, Long Beach Poly (Calif.)
Another strong tournament and Brown has looked good all spring. He's an athletic ‘backer who is poised for a big senior year.

Andre Gano, Inland Elite
Cornerback, La Verne (Calif.) Damien
Inland Elite was missing a few players on defense and Gano stepped up and had an impressive showing at the cornerback position.

Jacob Girgle, B2G Scorch
Safety, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos
Heady player who is always around the ball and led a strong defensive effort for the eventual champions.

Tahaan Goodman, B2G Five Star
Safety, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)
Is just an intimidating presence in the backfield. Rangy safety who covers a lot of ground.

Chris Hawkins, B2G Five Star
Cornerback, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)
Didn't have a chance to make a ton of plays as most teams shy away from throwing to his side, smart and athletic.

Devin Holiday, B2G 5 Star
Cornerback, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills
Only Cravens played better and it's a huge mystery why Holiday doesn't have double digit offers right now, he's an elite talent.

Charles Okonkwo, Frat Boys
Cornerback, Fontana (Calif.) Summit
Had a tough matchup with Victor Bolden but was still hands down, one of the top defenders in the event.

Ardis Perez, 1925 All-Stars
Linebacker, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Combines a strong frame with a physical style and moves around very well in space.

Justin Strong, Frat Boys
Safety, Fontana (Calif.) Summit
Physical safety who plays with a linebacker mentality. Teams shied away from throwing at Cravens and Strong made them pay.

Cornerback Delvin Batiste, Upland (Calif.)- Inland Elite, Cornerback Marlon Dobbins, Compton (Calif.) Dominguez- GameChangers, Safety Tyler Foreman, Encino (Calif.) Crespi- 1925 All-Stars, Safety David Price, Long Beach Poly (Calif.)- Impulse 55, Safety Terin Solomon, Murrieta Valley (Calif.)- Body By Tra, Linebacker Brett Walsh, Monrovia (Calif.)- GameChangers, Cornerback Tyan Washington, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)- B2G Five Star
