Cameron Robinson names three

Cameron Robinson, offensive tackle from Monroe-Ouachita Parish, La., reeled in a pair of big scholarship offers this week including one from the 2011 BCS National Champions. The class of 2014 prospect talked of the latest news including his top three schools.

"I was offered today by Alabama," said Cameron Robinson. "Coach Groh came to my spring practice today. He let me know they were offering.

"I was honored. I always think about Alabama. It shows me all my hard work is paying off. I am just honored by having the offer from them. I know I am going to camp up there this summer."

Robinson has been to Tuscaloosa more than once and familiar with the environment. Several things caught his attention while on the unofficial visits.

"I have been to Alabama couple of times," he said. "I like them because it's like a professional team. They have crazy fans. Football is a religion up there. I like the coaching staff a lot. You just feel at home at Alabama."

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound prospect also reeled in a scholarship offer from the Longhorns.

"Texas offered me yesterday," he said. "Coach Mack Brown called and talked to my coach. I then spoke to him. He told me they were offering me. It was pretty exciting. I have never visited them before. I plan on going out there this summer."

It comes as no surprise Robinson's top three also include schools on his offer list. An early decision is possible.

"My top three in no particular order are Alabama, LSU and Texas," Robinson said. "I am leaning towards making my decision around this time next year. I want to get my commitment out of the way before my senior season."
