Hobbs Adds Huskers

Nebraska hands Cedar Hill (TX) quarterback Damion Hobbs offer No. 6.

"Coach (Tim) Beck came by the school a couple weeks ago. We talked later and he said he was going to offer. I guess it's official now," laughed Damion Hobbs of his latest offer.

"He said he likes the fact that I'm a big kid playing quarterback. I have a strong arm, and good footwork. He likes that I can move."

Hobbs noted he and Beck have only spoken a few times, but from their discussions, "he seems like a real cool guy. A great coach. I know since he's been there (at Nebraska), they've been winning."

"They're a winning program, though, and they have been for a long time. I don't much about Nebraska, but I know I've watched them a little bit, and I like what I see."

Huskers join Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa State, Oregon State and Arkansas State in the race for the 6-foot-3, 205-pound dual threat.

"The Missouri offer is definitely up there, but this is really big, too, though," said Hobbs. "I would like to get up there, to both, but I don't know yet. I'm still trying to figure that whole situation out. I've been talking to my mom about it, day to day."

"Should have something figured out by end of spring ball."

The weekend of June 16 is a possible date he threw out there. Keep it on FSNext and BigRedReport for more.
