San Diego (Calif.) Madison Senior Pierre Cormier thought he had his top five set.
Then the four-star running back received an offer Friday from Nebraska.
Oregon was just in San Diego to watch him play.
USC is scheduled to make it to spring practice in the coming days.
"Oregon is close to offering from what I've heard," explained Cormier, "They like to get to know people before offering."
"USC is a great academic and football school," said Cormier.
The Land of Troy also has family ties.
Cormier's uncle Calvin Sweeney was a receiver who lettered for the Trojans during the 1977-78 seasons before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His aunt is currently a professor on campus.
"There's a lot of family ties," said Cormier, "it's (USC) already a familiar place."
It's also where one of Cormier's childhood idols played.
"I grew up watching Reggie Bush," explained Cormier cautiously, recognizing Bush's name now carries an asterisk at USC.
"He's from San Diego, I've tried to model parts of my game after his. I'd like to carry on the San Diego running back legacy."
Cormier is now up to twelve offers. Although he no longer has a top five, he says Arizona and Boise State still remain as two of his favorites.
Cormier plans to take all five of his official visits in the fall.
