Salinas (Calif.) Palma defensive end Jack Powers (6-6, 260), has a couple of offers but several coaches have made their way to his high school this spring, and more schools could be joining the mix soon.

"My two offers right now are from Fresno State and Washington State," said Powers. "Both schools offered me as a defensive end."

In addition, Nevada, Colorado State, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington have all dropped by Palma in the past month and Powers has also heard from UCLA, Notre Dame and Nebraska.

"Notre Dame was my favorite school growing up and I am going to their camp this summer. I'm also going to camp at Nebraska," said Powers. "I also like Stanford and Wisconsin."

Powers played on both sides of the ball as a junior, but said defense is where he'll end up in college, and where all of his recruitment is coming.

And he's not in any rush to make a decision.

"I want to take some visits before I decide on anyone," said Powers.

This weekend, Powers plans to camp at the Oakland NFTC.

Academically, Powers has a 3.5 and scored a 1520 on his first attempt of the SAT.

Brandon is in his eighth year with Scout.com and FOXSportsNext, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
