Just call it an end-of-the-school-year gift -- 2013 Lakes Community (Ill.) linebacker prospect A.J. Goggin received his first scholarship offer to join the tradition of Air Force Academy Football. After a long recruiting season, the call was just what he needed.
"It feels amazing to star to see the hard work pay dividends," Goggin said.
The offer, admittedly, took him somewhat by surprise.
"I had an idea it might come." Goggin said, "but I didn't think it would be before my visit."
Even without the visit, Falcons coaches know how they want to utilize Goggin.
"Coach [Jake] Moreland said I would be playing a weak side linebacker that focuses on rushing the quarterback and sealing the edge," he said.
"It's going to benefit me greatly because I will be going in with confidence which will allow me to perform better," Goggin said.
