In Focus: Shamire DeVine

Georgia Tech landed a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Shamir DeVine and Scout takes a look at what the Yellow Jackets are getting right here.

Prospect: Shamire DeVine
Hometown: East Point, Ga.
High School: Tri-Cities
Class: 2013
Position: Offensive Tackle
Size: 6-6/335
Scout Ranking: No. 17 OT / No. 200 Overall
Recruiting Notes: DeVine had a long list of scholarship offers and he chose Georgia Tech over schools like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and USC.

Scouting Report: DeVine moves and bends very well for an offensive lineman with his size. His arm length is good, he is light on his feet, and he consistently displays good balance and body control. He does need to work on his technique, holding his blocks, and continue to add strength to his frame in both lower and upper-body. He has lost a little weight this year and he has emerged as one of the top tackle prospects in the South. He has a lot of potential at Georgia Tech.
