Abundance of Midlands Offers

Fox Sports Next is in the streets this spring to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. And while we are out, plenty of offers have been distributed between players across the region. Check out this Fox Sports Next feature and see who all got good news recently…

First One In…
Getting the first offer is huge in recruiting. Many times it can lead to getting more. That is what Stephenville (TX) quarterback Tyler Jones (FCS-Texas State), La Porte (TX) offensive lineman Maurice Morris (Colorado State) and Katy (TX) Seven Lakes offensive tackle Davis Beard (Air Force) are hoping happens now that they got the first one in the bag.

Commit Offered for Another Position
According to national Recruiting Analyst Greg Powers from the Midlands Region, Mesquite (TX) Horn defender D.J. Green, who is a Baylor commit, was offered by Syracuse. And while he committed to the Bears as a linebacker, the New York-based program offered Green as a fullback.

Plenty Offers at Manvel
There is constant traffic at Manvel as college coaches are regular. Many times, when they leave, some of the players get good news. And the past couple days have been lots of that. For 2014, tight end Koda Martin was offered by Texas Tech. The Red Raider coaches also offered wide receiver Kyrion Parker too. The once-committed receiver Austin Bennett got two offers, one from UT-San Antonio and the other from Illinois

Colorado State Offers Taylor Ballers
Top 2014 defensive back Chris Hardeman, running back Travorris Johnson and defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronwu, whom all have a number of other offers, were each given one more courtesy of Colorado State.

Big JUCO DT Offered
New Mexico is the latest program to offer defensive tackle Jordan Turner from Coffeyville CC. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound tackle has Baylor and Memphis offers also.

While Speaking of Memphis…
Edmond (OK) Santa Fe safety Khari Harding just pulled in an offer from Memphis, adding to his list which has Kansas State and Arkansas on it.

Big 12 Looking for Money
From Dallas (TX) Wilmer-Hutchins, linebacker Money Peterson was offered by Iowa State and Kansas State.

Two in Two for Tercek
The Central Texas area offensive lineman was sitting on two offers for most of the off season. All of that changed just this week the San Antonio (TX) native pulled in Boise State on Monday and Navy on Tuesday.

Other offers include:
• Missouri City (TX) Elkins Wide receiver Jarvis Kidsy claims five offers. The latest ones being from North Texas and Illinois.
• From Spring (TX) Westfield defensive tackle Hardreck Walker is up to 11 offers now. Ole Miss extended an offer just before the weekend.
• Lancaster (TX) defensive back Dakota Austin was offered by Utah State.
