"Quincy has now also been offered by Maryland, Clemson, Florida, Duke and West Virginia," Chad Wilson, the player's father, reported. "This has been a very humbling experience for Quincy, but we are keeping his focus on working hard and getting better, not on recruiting."
"These offers are all great to us and we thank each school for the opportunity," the elder Wilson added. "Maryland is a program we are familiar with, and we watched them beat Miami last year. Clemson is a program we like and everybody saw what Sammy Watkins did last year. Both schools saw Quincy in practice and offered afterwards."
"West Virginia has had a lot of Florida players do well there, and we live in Miramar, so we follow those kids," he continued. "We saw West Virginia in the bowl game last year, and liked their style of play. As a parent, the Duke offer might be the most exciting to me, because of the academic opportunities. Florida is just one of the great programs in America, and a lot of people aren't aware of how great their academic reputation is."
Wilson is hoping to be able to travel this summer to check out a lot of different schools, in an attempt to get to know programs better.
"Our first focus is on getting better, so that's the first priority, but we plan on visiting a lot of schools if we can," Chad Wilson noted. "I would like to take a trip up north and see schools like Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame, because we are interested in all three of them. We don't have anything set up yet, but we are looking at getting that done."
With Chad Wilson being a former player at Miami, it is assumed the Hurricanes will be a major player for Quincy Wilson. Miami is recruiting Wilson, but has not offered to date.
