Harper Adds In-State Offer

Toledo, Ohio DB Tony Harper picked up his third offer Tuesday and talks about that and much more inside.

St. John's Jesuit High prospect Tony Harper picked up his third offer Tuesday -- and his third from the state of Ohio.

"Ohio University offered me Tuesday," Harper said.

Harper also has offers from Akron and his hometown school, Toledo. Even though Ohio U isn't too far from home, he has yet to visit.

"I haven't been on campus before," Harper said. "It's about three hours away from where I live."

Harper camped at Kentucky recently, and came away impressed.

"I camped at Kentucky on Sunday," Harper said. "It was a nice camp and I performed well."

He added, "I worked out at safety and some linebacker in the end."

Harper, who is listed as a safety, is getting looks all over the field -- and could play more than one position at the next level.

"A lot of schools are looking at me as a hybrid or OLB because of my size and the fact that I will get bigger," Harper said. "Some are putting me in the athlete position now because I can play a lot of different positions."

His newest offer is one of the first to jump at Harper at the athlete slot.

"Ohio offered me as an athlete," Harper said. "And Coach Reed said he thinks I could play safety, linebacker, or somewhere on offense."
