In Focus: Rashard Robinson

Scout saw Rashard Robinson play late last week and you can see photos, get the latest in recruiting, and get a Scouting Report here.

Prospect: Rashard Robinson
Hometown: Pompano Beach, Fla.
High School: Blanche Ely
Position: Cornerback
Size: 6-1/175
Ranking on Scout: No. 30 CB
Recruiting Notes: Oklahoma offered Robinson on Tuesday when they stopped by the school and he also claims offers from Florida State, LSU, and Ole Miss. There is no doubt that he has the talent to play on the next level, but his academics are still a concern. He has some work to do in the classroom. He plans to camp at FSU and LSU for sure this summer with a few others possible.

Scouting Report: Robinson is a very long corner and he uses that length to his advantage. It helps him in recovery, it helps him in coverage, and it helps him when he looks to make a play on the ball. He still needs to get stronger and work on his press coverage. He just looks more comfortable when he plays off the ball. He needs to work on his footwork, especially his back pedal. His strides are a little long, he can get off balance, and he just needs to sit down, make them shorter, and be a little more smooth in transition. He has very good speed to the ball when it is in the air, he can close on receivers well, and he is a solid open field tackler. He is going to get to around 190 pounds or so when all is said and done, and he has a lot that will draw college coaches his way on the field.
