Baker has change of plans

Adrian Baker was on the verge of committing earlier this spring, but after thinking things over, he has changed his plans.

"I really thought about committing recently, but I have decided to push my decision back," Adrian Baker said. "I thought about things, I talked things over with my coach, and I feel I just need to take more time."

Baker felt he may be rushing things a little.

"I just want to make sure the program I choose is the right one for me, so I want to look around a little more, take more visits, and just take more time. I will take some trips this summer to schools like Ohio State and Florida, but most of my visits will come later."

Five schools high on this corner's list right now and they come from four different conferences.

"Florida State, Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Clemson are still in the mix right now. The list could still change, but those are the five standing out the most right now. I really like each of those schools."

The 6-foot-1, 165 pound cornerback out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna expands on what he likes about his top five.

Clemson: "I talk to Coach Venables a lot at Clemson. He is the new defensive coordinator and I like him. Clemson likes Florida guys too."

Florida: "Florida always has great players and I like how their defense plays with speed. I have formed a bond with Coach Hill and Coach Robinson, so I like that connection."

Florida State: "I like the tradition at FSU and I like the town of Tallahassee. I also like Coach Stoops. He has coached some great defensive backs in the past."

Ohio State: "Ohio State is a great program and Urban Meyer is a great coach who won a National Championship at Florida. I think the program is heading in the right direction."

Oklahoma: "Oklahoma produces great players, they have a lot of tradition, and they always are competing at a high level."

Baker once thought he would be committed by now, but at this time it looks like a decision will likely not be made until the calendar rolls into 2013.

"I am not going to be competing early and I will definitely be taking my official visits first. I will likely be committing to someone after the season is over," the three-star corner said.

"I am looking for good academics, the school's tradition, and the atmosphere at the school. I want to get along with the coaches and players too, so that is important. I am just going to make sure I pick the school that offers that to me."

Florida, Florida State, and Miami have had Baker on their campus so far in 2012.
