Kidsy Hitting a Couple Camps

Fox Sports Next is in the streets this spring to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with Elkins wide receiver Darvin Kidsy from Missouri City, Texas. After a 7-on-7 tournament, he talked some about what he has going on in college recruiting. Check out this Fox Sports Next feature and see what he had to say…

Off season is over for most of the players across the country and transitioning into the summer is next up. For a number of the skilled players in the Lone Star State, 7-on-7 football is an activity that is an option.

Missouri City (TX) Elkins wide receiver Darvin Kidsy has chosen that option, along with many of his teammates.

But at the same time, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Kidsy will be out at several camps trying to pull in a few more offers. For the moment, he claims offers from North Texas and Illinois.

Now he is trying to see what else is out there.

"At the end of spring, Duke flew in and came to Elkins. The coaches said that they are looking to offer me," Kidsy said. "I recently talked to TCU and Northwestern is recruiting me also. The coaches want me to take another SAT. I understand that's a big academic school."

As for the camps, TCU is the one program that he said he will for sure camp. He also participated in the Baylor camp and said that he had a conversation with assistant coach Kendal Briles, which went well according to Kidsy.

"I'd say that everything is going pretty good. Coaches want you to play for them when they recruit you," Kidsy said. "I will just keep playing hard for the team and I feel that more (offers) will come."

Kidsy was the No.3 receiver last season, but will be transitioning to the No. 2. Last year he caught 18 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns.
