It is very early for the 2014 athlete and he knows that he still has a lot of work to do.
"It feels good to be hearing from schools already and to be getting offers, but I know I still have a long way to go. I am not there yet and I want to get a lot better. I am just going to keep working hard and use all of the attention to motivate me."
The 6-foot-1, 185 pound rising junior has played all over the football field on the high school level. He is primarily being recruited as a corner though early on in the recruiting process.
He talks about his game.
"As a corner, I feel a read and react well. I think I see the play before it happens and I think I have good hips too. I will be working on getting faster, getting stronger, and my technique this summer. I am a pretty good athlete, but I still can improve a lot at cornerback."
He worked on his technique in Lexington recently. Franklin traveled up for a camp at Kentucky not long ago and he feels he did well.
"I think it went good up at Kentucky a couple of weeks ago," Franlin said. "I think I opened some eyes out there and their coaches talked to me. They knew me more as a running back off of film, so I showed them what I could do at cornerback."
UK is now on Franklin's list of schools. He is from up north, so he actually favored a school that plays in the ACC as a kid.
"When I was young, my favorite team was Boston College. I am from Boston, so I liked Boston College and kind of kept up with then for a while. Since being in Georgia though, I like South Carolina, Miami, Kentucky, and schools like that. I am really looking around at everyone though right now."
Franklin plans to camp at Miami, South Carolina, and South Florida this summer.
