Linebacker camps with Alabama
"The Alabama camp went really well," Shaun Hamilton said. "I was very impressed with everything. They had me working out at inside linebacker. I was with coach Smart the whole time.
"I really loved Coach Smart. He told me he really loves how I play linebacker. He said he was very impressed with my film. He said I am real athletic, and that I can change direction.
"He said with my class they are going to sign four linebackers. He said they will probably offer me at the end of the summer or in the season. He is definitely going to be watching me a lot."
The in-state prospect had his work cut out for him at camp. It was not laid back session in Tuscaloosa.
"What really stood out is how much we worked," Hamilton said. "It really shows me why Alabama wins national championships. Coach Smart told me the camp is like how they practice. It's up-tempo, and that stood out. I also took an academic tour. That stood out to me."
The University of Alabama has been on the outside looking in early in the recruiting process with all the attention from other programs and no scholarship offer at this point from the Tide. It changed this week after spending more time in Tuscaloosa.
"They are right there with Auburn and Florida State," Hamilton said following camp. "I was very impressed with the coaches and everyone. I was impressed with coach Saban and coach Smart. They want to win."
Hamilton will travel to Auburn on Sunday and Florida State next Wednesday.
