Edwards Adds Bearcat Offer

Avon (Ind.) WR Jalen Edwards picks up his second offer after a big camp performance.

Cincinnati offered speedy Avon High wide receiver Jalen Edwards today after he showed the Bearcats what he could do.

"I had a one day camp there. I went against some of the top corners in the nation and I killed them," he said. "But after the camp the head coach brought me into his office and said he thinks I could play when I get there and offered on the spot."

Edwards enjoyed his time with head coach Butch Jones, saying, "He was awesome."

Western Kentucky is the other school who has offered Edwards, and others may be close, but the Bearcats will be tough to beat.

"I love UC. I have most of my family from Dayton, so it all goes together."

On Friday, Edwards ran two 4.41 forties at the Illinois camp and he believes the Illini may offer too.

"I think an offer is coming really soon. All I need to do is send them my transcript, report card and SAT scores."
