Tarboro (NC) standout Tyquan Lewis picked up a non-committable offer from Ohio State. After attending the Buckeye's camp Sunday afternoon, that offer was changed into a committable one.
"The offer means a lot. I want to get my mom back up here and we're going to talk academics and things like that and see how everything is. Ohio State is definitely high. I love it here. This was a great visit, the facilities are top notch. Everything is great here. I know with the new program and Coach Meyer coming in, it's going to be amazing. I've won three years in a row and am going for my fourth and I expect to come here and win if that's the case, or go somewhere else. I just want to win."
Other than the Buckeyes, Lewis says that four other schools are standing out to him; LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and North Carolina.
"LSU is always competing and they have great coaching. It's very nice. At Clemson, I get a great feeling there. I like all of the coaches. With UNC, it's close so my mom and brothers would be close. I could also get a good education there."
Even though he is a rising senior, Lewis believes that he is just now gaining national exposure.
"I feel like at my location I don't get a chance to compete against the top talent. But when I come out to camps I compete against the best of the best."
As for his a timetable for his decision, Lewis doesn't want to rush his decision, but also does not want to take too long.
"I don't want to make a decision based on a place I've never been to, so I would want to visit the schools first. I do want to enroll early so I can get the early exposure, get in the weight room and gain some more weight. So my decision will be way before Signing Day."
Lewis hopes to visit LSU sometime this summer.
