Thomas Talks Bulldog Camp

Richard Thomas is one of east Mississippi's top defensive prospects. The West Lauderdale standout has picked up a few offers, but Thomas is not one content to sit on his laurels. Thomas made the drive to Starkville, Mississippi to see if he could get an offer in hand from Coach Dan Mullen's Bulldogs.

"I worked out with the safeties," said Thomas. "Things went pretty good.

"Coach Hughes told me that I had good feet and all, but that he would like to see me at outside linebacker because of my size."

Thomas reports that he has no problems lining up closer to the line of scrimmage.

"I love being up there," said Thomas. "They taught me a lot of new drills today that I can go back and show my team.

"We can all work on that and get better."

Three programs have extended offers. Thomas reports that Mississippi State has talked to him about where things stand with them.

"I have offers from Ole Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana Tech," said Thomas. "From talking to Coach Hughes (Mississippi State), they want to do a 7-on-7 evaluation and then see me on film.

"He said that they will decide if they are going to offer me from there."

Thomas plans to camp at Louisiana Tech next.
