Moore a QB to Watch

At TCU camp QB Colby Moore showed that he could be the next Springtown (Texas) High star to sign with a D1 school. and FOXSportsNext take a look in to his recruitment. . .

Springtown, Texas already has one player on their roster that will play D-1 ball next year in tight end Bryson Burtnett. Someone has to throw him the ball and that responsibility will fall on 2014 signal caller Colby Moore.

Moore threw for over 1,300 yards as a sophomore for the Porcupines in part time duty and he will be looked to do more in Brad Turner's spread offense.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder had a busy week last week with camp stops at Texas A&M, TCU and Baylor. Moore says he felt he did well enough to impress the coaches at TCU.

"I think I had a very good camp out there and showed good feet," he said. "Coach Burns said he was impressed with my footwork and he could see that I could throw the ball pretty far."

Although he felt he impressed the Horned Frog coaches, he felt like he may have done better at A&M's camp the day before.

"I thought A&M was a little more impressed with me, they talked to me more after the camp," he said.

Moore says since coaches can't have many discussions with him it's hard to tell where he stands with a number of schools. He just knows he's doing everything he can do to land on their radar.

"It's kind of hard because they really can't talk to me yet but they're telling me good job and that I'm getting on their radar so they can look at me next year," Moore said.
