Smierciak Adds Two

Aurora (OH) outside linebacker Zach Smierciak is seeing his recruitment heat up. Check out what the rising senior has to say about his newest offers from Miami (Oh) and Bowling Green.

6-foot-2.5, 220 pound rising senior Zach Smierciak has picked up offers from Ball State, Buffalo and Yale since the end last season. This week, the outside linebacker added another school with a special connection to his list.

"Miami of Ohio offered me," said Smierciak. "I drove down and met with the coaching staff and took a campus tour. It's a beautiful campus. Both my mother and father are Miami graduates so I have taken visits to the university with them before. Overall I was impressed with the layout of the school and the facilities. I do have a strong interest in them. As of right now I am open to many different universities, but Miami does reflect strong academics and a solid football program with great tradition."

That's not all; the outside linebacker also picked up another offer this week.

"I have also received an offer from Bowling Green. I like the linebacker's coach, Coach Lea. And also the facilities were top of the line and centralized. I have not had the opportunity to visit the campus yet."

For now, the rising senior is using his free time to tour campuses and attend different camps.

"I've been to Penn State, Lehigh, Ohio State, Indiana and Toledo so far and will be camping at Minnesota, Northwestern and Boston College next week."
