Allen Chooses Hawkeyes

Iowa lands Detroit King wide receiver Mycial Allen.

Iowa's recent success in Detroit continue today when King high school wide receiver Mycial Allen chose the Hawkeyes.

"I think it's a great college and I thought it was the best place for me to play at."

Allen chose the Hawkeyes over several other offers. He was recruited for defensive back too but says the Hawkeyes are recruiting him at receiver. They were also happy to hear he was on board.

"It was a great reaction from them and I cannot wait to get down to Iowa City and play football for them."

Allen says he has a good relationship with receivers coach Erik Campbell.

"We've been talking for the longest time and he came up to my track meet to watch me run and we have a great relationship."

And Allen won't have to change his high school colors either.

"I get to keep the black and gold! Hawkeye nation!"
