Bellamy thinking commitment?

Davin Bellamy has planned all along to take some official visits before committing to a school, but those plans may have changed. Get the latest here.

"I honestly thought about committing over the weekend when I was down at Florida State," Davin Bellamy told Scout. "I do not know exactly why I didn't, but I do want my mom to see it. I really thought about it though."

It was Bellamy's first time in Tallahassee and he could not say enough good things about his time there.

"The campus was beautiful, the women there are beautiful, and I just loved it there. The coaches are great, I like their depth chart at defensive end, and I left there very impressed. I have to say it was my best visit yet."

The Seminoles are now on top for the 6-foot-4, 230 pound end out of Atlanta (Ga.) Chamblee and an SEC school it right behind them.

"FSU is definitely the front-runner now after the visit, but Vanderbilt is still up there too," he said. "Vanderbilt was treating me like a big-time recruit before I even had all the offers.

"They have been on me hard the longest, I have a bond with their coaches, and Johnathan McCrary is committed there, and he is one of my best friends. I really think I could go in there and play early too."

Bellamy never thought he would be thinking about committing to someone over the summer, but he is leaning towards making a decision before the end of August now.

"I think I probably will commit sometime in August. I thought I would take official visits first, but not now. I have gotten out to a lot of different schools, I have seen a lot, and recruiting is getting a little hectic. I will probably commit before my senior season."

Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia have gotten Bellamy on their campus so far this summer and he hopes to see Michigan State in July.
