Lamar Robbins is a multi-talented athlete for Southridge. "I play receiver on offense and defensive back on defense. Robbins is projected as a receiver by Scout.com but not all schools are recruiting him as a receiver.
Robbins is happy with the direction his recruitment is going. Robbins has received 30 or so offers from schools across the country. "I have offers from high academic schools like Georgia Tech, Northwestern, and Duke." Lamar is also receiving interest from Stanford.
At Georgia Tech, Lamar has talked with receivers Coach Buzz Preston. "Even though he is the wide receiver coach, he says they are looking at me as a corner on defense." Coach Preston visited Southridge during their spring practice and the two have kept in touch since then.
Robbins is looking to find out more about Tech. "I like Coach Preston and I am interested in staying in touch with him." Although he has the 30 offers, Lamar is not ready to name any favorites at this time.
When he begins trimming his list, Robbins will be looking for a school where he feels at home. "I want to feel like I am one of the guys there." Although he is leaning towards leaving Florida, Lamar is not ready to close the door on the in-state schools.
Lamar is not in a rush to make his college choice. "My decision will come during my senior season or shortly afterwards. It could go close to signing day but I doubt it."
