Friedline Recaps Bay Area

Seattle (Wash.) King's offensive lineman Mason Friedline breaks down his unofficial visits to California and Stanford…

Seattle (Wash.) King's offensive lineman Mason Friedline spent the week in the Bay Area, taking a firsthand look at both California and Stanford.

"It was actually really fun, I had an amazing time," said Friedline. "It really helps to visit. Visiting shows you everything, coaches can paint picture of what they want it to look like, but when get there you can see it for sure. I am going to take as many as I can."

The 6'5" 280lbs lineman talked about what stood out for each program.

"Cal, I got down there and I was immediately impressed with how great the staff was," said Friedline. "They toured me around and were really great, I could relate to them. They showed me the facilities; they are arguably the best I have ever seen."

"Stanford, it's just Stanford," said Friedline. "I am really looking for a great academic institution and it is everything you could ask for in a school. It was great all around, the coaches were great too."

Friedline already held an offer from California and was hoping to add the Cardinal to his list.

"It's kind of tricky at Stanford," said Friedline. "They talked about how interested they are in me, but they don't have room because of the line class last year. There are looking at taking one lineman this year, a tackle. I'm and inside guy for them."

Friedline is in no rush to make a decision, but is getting the feeling that may not be entirely up to him.

"My plan was to wait as long as I could, but I am seeing now that I am getting more pressure," said Friedline. "Cal laid it out, they have 4 spots and when they fill up, they fill up. The spots are open still, but I will keep monitoring that, seeing if they full up. It's is getting crazy how early everyone is committing."

Regardless of where he ends up, Friedline knows what qualities his final school will possess.

"Academics are pretty big and a great relationship with the staff," said Friedline. "I have been impressed with the offensive line coaches I have met so far, just about finding the one that fits best for me."
