Bulls' fans have become accustomed to hearing good news involving commitments following the USF SuperBull camp, and the Bulls picked up another solid one when Darius Whitty, a 6-foot-1, 175 pound corner from First Coast HS committed to the staff.

"I had a great time at the camp and committed to the USF," said Whitty. "Everything about the place is great and I felt really comfortable with the staff and knew that's where I wanted to be."

The 6-foot1, 170 pound defensive back that runs a 4.48 forty, had a great spring as schools came by and offered scholarships

"I had West Virginia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Marshall and Georgia Southern," said Whitty. "But I narrowed it down to USF and Ole Miss."

"I chose USF because they have great academics, a beautiful campus and great facilities. They have a great program that keeps making progress and moving forward, and that's something I wanted to be a part of."

The First Coast standout talked about how the commit went down.

"After the camp we were having our meetings with the coaches and I told them I was ready and wanted to commit," said Whitty. "They were real excited and were jumping up and down. Coach Holtz was real happy that I was going to be a Bull."

Whitty said after narrowing down his choices and then working with the staff at the camp, knew that's where he wanted to be.

"I really liked the academics and their focus on it. That was important to me," said Whitty. "The facilities are really great, the weight room, practice fields, and they keep getting better. They have a great coaching staff. They're very real and straight up with you."
