"Basically I've been talking to all the coaches and getting everything ready for the stretch run of the summer," he said.
"I should be coming down to Southern Miss soon. My phone has been messed up and I haven't had a chance to call Coach Peavy but I'll be doing that this week. They've been in contact with me, I just have to confirm that I'm going to go down there and take a visit."
Clayborn right now is hearing from a lot of schools but is set on staying in-state.
"Ole Miss, State, and Southern are the three schools I am considering," he said. "The only other out of state school I am looking at is LSU, but I really want to stay in state."
He had a great showing at a Mississippi State camp recently.
"I went over there for the State camp and the Coach said he was going to call me and e-mail me a good day to come back to Starkville for a visit," he said. "Other than that, I'm just hearing from them, USM, and Ole Miss a lot right now."
Clayborn said he is working on his quickness and running. He has set personal goals for him to close in on this summer, and he said he's working to get there.
He plays on both sides of the ball, but he said the coaches project him as an offensive guard at the next level. He feels more comfortable inside on the line.
"My high school runs a spread formation so we basically run the same type of scheme as the three schools, so I feel very comfortable in the spread," he added.
It should be a race to the finish for the coveted big man as all three schools seem to be close for him. Stay tuned.
