Lineman learning about Arizona

Offensive lineman J.D. Hinnant has a long list of schools he is looking at. Read on to see where Arizona is on that list, his visit plans, and more.

Although he is rated a three-star recruit, Fountain Valley (Calif.) offensive lineman J.D. Hinnant is one of the most sought after players in the country.

Hinnant's recruitment has taken off recently and he likely will be able to choose from a variety of schools.

"I just got back from visiting Washington," Hinnant said. "The visit went really well and was informative. I got to talk with the coaches and become more familiar with the program and how things are run.

"It's definitely a school going in the right direction. Besides Washington, I also like Oregon, Nebraska and a few of other schools."

One of the other schools involved is Arizona, which Hinnant admits he needs to learn more about.

"I've heard from Arizona, but it's been a while," he said. "It's a school that's on my long list, but other than that, I don't know too much about the situation."

Hinnant will check out different schools in the coming months, but also has a plan for improving his skills.

"The main things I'm working on this summer are my explosion and keeping proper technique," Hinnant said. "I'll face other players just as big as myself in college and that is why it's so important for an offensive lineman to do things the right way.

"I'm just trying to get as strong and flexible as possible while also maintaining proper position. I'm being recruited as a guard, but I want to be as flexible as possible and be able to play any of the positions, if necessary."

Hinnant does not want to name any favorites and says his recruitment is fluid.

"I'm just taking it day by day, but I don't really have an exact time for a decision," Hinnant said. "I want to make the right decision while continuing to improve every day."
