Holmes To Hit The Road, Again

2014 wide receiver Corey Holmes just returned home to South Florida after visiting Michigan and Notre Dame last week. The St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) athlete won't be home long, he's heading out West Friday. Get the latest on the future top wide receiver here.

Corey Holmes has been a fan of Michigan since he was little, he visited Ann Arbor last week for camp and picked up an offer from the Wolverines while he was there.

"It was very exciting, it was one of my favorite schools as a kid, I always loved the University of Michigan and to receive an offer from them, it was a very special moment," Holmes said.

"Everything was great about Michigan, their facilities, their campus, I really liked the indoor practice field. (I really liked) being on their field and everything."

On the way back from Michigan, Holmes and his father also stopped by Notre Dame.

"Notre Dame was very nice. The time up to visiting, Notre Dame had been a college I was kind of ‘iffy' about, I didn't know what to expect or anything like that, but I must say, when I went to Notre Dame, I was very surprised with the football facilities and the campus and everything. I was very impressed," he said.

Friday, Holmes and his father will head out West to see USC, California, and another one of Holmes' favorites – Oregon.

"I'm excited to see their campuses, their facilities, the area it's in – that's a really big thing when it comes to making my decision – what area it's in, the landscape and that kind of stuff. That I'm really anxious to see about Oregon because I've heard how beautiful Oregon is," he said.

Holmes now has five offers: Michigan, Florida, Rutgers, South Florida, and Wisconsin. He's also been getting some strong interest from LSU and Clemson. Still, he doesn't plan on making a decision anytime soon.

"I really do want to go through the recruiting process, really when it comes down to making my decision, I want to get through my junior year before any decision is made," he said.

Holmes hopes to see both LSU and Clemson next summer. He also plans on camping at Florida for Friday Night Lights in July.
