Carlton Perkins (Walker, La.) had a chance to lead the state of Louisiana in rushing last season. But he hurt his hamstring and was really slowed down for his final three games.

"I played but didn't do much," Perkins said. "That injury really slowed me down. But I still had a good year."

Perkins, 5-foot-11 and 185-pounds, finished the season with 1,700 yards rushing. He ran then and runs now with a chip on his shoulder.

"I feel that I am very underrated," Perkins said. "I want to show that I can play with the best of the best. I am a deceptive back because I can run over you at my size. I also have the speed to out run you."

According to Perkins he has scholarship offers from Minnesota and North Texas.

"They have offered," Perkins said. "I am also getting interest from LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri and Nebraska, I have camped at LSU and will camp at Nebraska this month."
