Phillips has One Goal

Last season, A.L. Brown High (Kannapolis, N.C.) running back Kalif Phillips was one of the most productive players in the state. Phillips is poised for an even bigger senior season.

Kalif Phillips performed at an extremely high level last fall. He helped lead A.L. Brown to a 12-2 record. It should come as no surprise that he is attracting interest from several college programs.

"ECU is looking at me pretty hard … they really want me," said Kalif Phillips. "I am also getting mail from Appalachian State, N.C. State, Miami, UNC-Charlotte, and Wake Forest."

There is a lot to like about Phillips game.

"I'm real good at finding the hole and if I can't -- I will try to make one," said the 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back. "I am also a good blocker and I go 100 percent every play. I am unselfish and I will do anything for the team"

Phillips already has an offer from East Carolina and believes Appalachian State could be next. For now, he is focused on his upcoming season for the Wonders.

"I only have one goal and that is to win," said Phillips

Last season, Phillips had close to 2,500 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns. Phillips, who has sub-4.4 speed, does not have a timetable for his decision. However, he said he would like to narrow his list of schools down soon.
