Miami Commitment Travis Johnson (6'3/230) of Tampa Jesuit was dominating down the stretch for his Team Tampa squad as he led them to the IMG 7v7 National Championship over the weekend.

Currently listed as a wide receiver on Scout, technically, Johnson did play wide receiver the entire game, but from a projection standpoint, he is 100% tight end.

He is already at least 230 pounds and has the frame from shoulders to ankles to easily play in the 260+ range without losing a step of quickness. His body control and hands are elite. Team Tampa employed several back shoulder throws to Johnson in the endzone in which he would spin his body around and catch the ball behind him before the defensive back could even react.

Catch is a word I use loosely when describing Johnson's game. A better description might be that he snatches the ball out of the air. Johnson plays receiver like a power forward going for a rebound. He establishes position, boxes out, and snatches anything near him. Quarterbacks don't throw to him in as much as they throw at him.

By the time the tournament was over and Team Tampa had steamrolled through the IMG 7v7 National Championship bracket unscathed including two convincing wins over 2011 Champion Maximum Exposure out of Michigan, Johnson was an easy pick for tournament MVP.
