Arizona involved with Correa

Arizona is once involved with players in Hawaii. Read on for the latest on Kamalei Correa and where his recruitment stands.

One consistent recruiting territory for Arizona has been Hawaii. Current UA Head Coach Rich Rodriguez is looking to continue that tradition and the UA coaching staff has been in touch with St. Louis School (Hawaii) defensive tackle Kamalei Correa.

"I've talked with the Arizona coaches," Correa said. "They say they like my versatility and see me as a five technique or an end. I don't know a ton but I will probably check them out further."

The Wildcats have significant ground to make up to sign Correa.

"My top schools are Oregon State and Boise State," Correa said. "Both schools have good coaches who have been recruiting me very well and I'm going to look hard at both."

Correa is looking at schools, but also continuing to work on his skills.

"The biggest thing I need to work on is my run technique," Correa said. "I get sloppy and mess up sometimes and I'm not very good when that happens. It's all correctable, so I just have to keep working at it.

"The other thing I really need to improve is my strength. I'm hitting the weight room twice a day and just trying to get as big as possible."

As far as a decision goes, Correa intends to exhaust the recruiting process.

"I'm in no hurry to make a decision," Correa said. "I won't take visits until the end of the summer. This is one of the biggest decisions I'm ever going to make and I want to make sure I check everything out.

"I will take all five visits and I want to make sure those are the five visits worth taking."
