Florida RB having strong summer

Matt Breida is a standout running back prospect from Nature Coast High and Scout has the latest on him.

Matt Breida put his name on the recruiting map last season when he ran for 1,613 yards and 21 touchdowns. At 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Breida has been busy this summer.

"He camped at Duke in June upon Coach Collins' request," said NC coach Robert Kazmier. "He measured in at 5-10 172 and ran a 4.4. He was the fastest kid at their camp. Duke has been very high on him since last year. He raised his GPA this spring and just landed a solid test score. We sent all of that in this week, so an offer could hopefully be coming very soon."

Duke isn't the only school that Breia tried to impress in recent weeks.

"The other school that he loves and has camped at is USF. I am realistic with Matt though, and he knows that they have already landed one smaller RB in JoJo Kemp, and are now targeting some bigger guys, like Folston and Reid. So right now that Duke offer would be huge. He is open to all schools at the moment."

Breida is a Division 1 prospect who has a few offers in the fold already.

"Matt currently has offers from Ball State (cornerback), Toledo, Akron, UMass, Georgia Southern, and Jacksonville State."
