The Opening: Ira Denson

BEAVERTON, Ore. - Ira Denson has been one of the top linemen at The Opening from start to finish and Jimbo Fisher is getting a good one.

"Florida State has always been my favorite school and I have liked them since I was a kid, but the decision was really not that easy," Ira Denson told Scout at The Opening.

"I was considering Tennessee, South Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, and Florida, so I was looking at some great schools when I made my decision. FSU was just the best one for me."

When the 6-foot-4, 320 pound offensive guard out of Madison (Fla.) Madison County spent time in Tallahassee, he knew it was where he wanted to be.

"The visit to FSU went great for me; I got to spend time with Coach [Rick] Trickett and Coach [Jimbo] Fisher and they are great coaches. I actually told Coach Trickett about my commitment first, then Coach Fisher.

"They were both happy about my commitment and my mom was happy too. She will be able to come see me play there a lot, I will be close to home, and I knew during that visit that FSU was where I wanted to go."

Denson will continue to climb the Scout rankings after his performance at The Opening. Four guys have really stood out to Scout out of the South this weekend and you can see that feature here.
