On the last Friday in June, one of the top junior linebackers in Florida made visits to Clemson and Georgia Tech.

OLB Richard Yeargin III Profile

Chaminade Madonna College Prep [Hollywood, Fla.] outside linebacker Richard Yeargin III made the trip with his father, brother and a good friend.

"It was good," Yeargin told CUTigers in a recent interview. "I got to see a lot of different things around Clemson, learned what it's all about, meet some of the people around. I got to be in touch with coach Venables a lot. It was a good experience. I really liked the campus."

What stood out?

"The way those guys come out before a game, the camaraderie around the coaches and players. It's a family vibe, and the way that everybody is so into each other and into their jobs. They're devoted."

Before the Clemson trip, Yeargin visited Georgia Tech. He's also hit Ohio State and Miami up for visits this summer.

Along with Clemson, Wake Forest and Wisconsin have offered.

Yeargin said he is "open-minded" about the schools he's considering and does not have a list of favorites.
