Cooper Updates Interest in Spartans

After earning an offer from Michigan State during its summer camp in June, Demetrius Cooper has seen others follow suit. Where does Michigan State stand with the Chicago (IL) native? We get the latest.

Chicago (IL) Julian defensive end Demetrius Cooper was excited about earning an offer from Michigan State following two chances to impress Spartans coaches in the month of June.

Now, about a month since his recruitment started to take off, Cooper updates his interest in the Green & White.

"Right now Michigan State is most definitely going to get an official visit for one of their games," said Cooper. "From the things I've seen since the first time I went up there, they made me want to go back. But right now I'm not looking to have a leader as all the schools that have offered are my favorites."

Despite trying to keep all eight schools that have offered even, Cooper talked highly of the Spartans.

"I have a lot of interest in Michigan State," said Cooper. "I've learned more about the academics they offer and love how the campus is set up. I've not really had a chance to do a lot of research because of my schedule, but once things slow down I plan on learning even more. But when I go to narrow things down, Michigan State will be one of my choices."

Leading the way for the Spartans in Cooper's recruitment is Dan Roushar. Has Cooper been staying in contact since earning his offer?

"I've been talking with coach Roushar," said Cooper. "We talk about me getting back to campus and I like talking with him. He's straight with everything and I like that about him."

As for when Cooper will look to return for a visit, he expects to know soon.

"Towards the end of next week I'll look to speak with my mother about any visits I might take," said Cooper.
