6-foot-5, 230 pound tight end Joel Rich was just beginning the recruitment process. While the rising senior has spent the summer going to camps and visiting schools, he knew in the back of his mind where he wanted to end up, so he decided to make it official.
"I committed to Boston College," said Rich. "I just knew it was where I wanted to go."
Other than the football program, Rich says their religious background was one of the determining factors in his decision.
"I've gone to Catholic school my whole life and with Boston College being a Catholic school, it was great. I just loved it when I visited. The campus is not too big, but not too small. And it's just outside of Boston."
The tight end says he's relieved to be able to enjoy his final high school season.
"It's great. I'm very excited for it and now I don't have to worry about recruiting during my season this year."
Rich is excited to show Eagle fans what he's about on the field.
"They can expect me to give my best every chance I get."
The rising senior says that now that he's an Eagle, he's shutting down his recruitment.
"Every offer I have received is an honor, but I have committed to Boston College and I am going to keep that commitment."
Rich also held offers from Buffalo, Yale, Colgate, Youngstown State, Kent State and Holy Cross.
