Always loaded with talent, Paducah Tilghman has a prospect who should receive a lot of evaluation during his senior year in Kendall Calhoun. The 6-foot-7, 260-pound offensive tackle is long and athletic, just like you want in the prototype left tackle. But Calhoun is still trying to get better as a player.
"I have very good footwork and I'm very aggressive," Calhoun said. "I'm working on my strength. I'm trying to max out my bench press at 315 by the school year," he continued.
"I camped at Southern Illinois, Louisville and Kentucky. I have been one of the top offensive linemen at each one," he said.
Calhoun talked a little about the in-state programs recruiting him, Kentucky and Louisville.
"I really like the atmosphere of the program at Kentucky. And I like the coaching staff. The fact that Kentucky is an SEC school really stands out," he said.
"I like Louisville because of their facilities and coaches. I think I would be a great fit for them," he said.
Calhoun thinks he may be coming upon his first offers and that Kentucky and Illinois State may be the first to offer. But if Calhoun can reach his team goals this year, there's a good chance he'll get plenty of scholarship offers.
"I'm looking forward to another chance to lead my team to a state championship," Calhoun finished.
