If so, one prospect the Spartans could be looking at is West Chester (OH) Lakota West offensive lineman Kyle Meadows.
What has Meadows been up to the past few weeks?
"I've just been working out and focusing on lifting," said Meadows. "I'm getting ready for the season and as far as recruiting it's basically the same with nothing really new."
The next stage of Meadows recruitment could come in the fall when he looks to take his official visits. Will Michigan State receive one of his five visits?
"The next thing is for me to take my official visits and see what happens from there," said Meadows. "Michigan State wanted me to come up there for an unofficial visit, but my schedule didn't allow it.
"I'm not really too sure right now. The last coach I spoke with was coach (Mark) Staten who came to my school and said they might have an offer for me or something, but I'm not really too sure."
One reason Meadows has a renewed interest in the Spartans is one of his friends recently pledged to the Green & White.
"I was shocked when my friend Trey Kilgore committed to Michigan State," said Meadows. "I didn't even know he was getting looked at by Michigan State."
As for the schools who will receive visits, Meadows knows of two.
"Illinois and Kentucky are the only two schools I'm definitely going for visits," said Meadows. "The other three schools could change but could be Michigan State, Florida State and I think Tennessee. I'll have to talk with my coach about it to see who wants me to visit more."
