Three from the SEC West

Devin Voorhies of Wilkinson County, Mississippi has already thrown down the gauntlet as one of the top juniors in the Magnolia State. With three SEC offers to his credit, Voorhies is emerging as one of the hottest 2014 prospects in the region. With a camping trip to LSU under his belt, the versatile Voorhies has two more excursions planned this month.

Devin Voorhies profile

"I just got a new offer from Ole Miss," said Voorhies. "LSU offered me after I went to their camp and then Mississippi State offered me not long after the LSU camp.

"I am going to camp at Ole Miss this weekend and then I am going to camp at Mississippi State next weekend for the Big Dawg camp.

"This will be my first time going up there to see Ole Miss and Mississippi State."

Voorhies lines up under center on the high school level, but he is expected to either catch passes or bat them down on the next level.

"Everybody is talking to me about either receiver or defensive back," said Voorhies. "It doesn't really matter to me.

"I can play on either side of the ball. I am just an all around football player."

The Woodville, Mississippi native denies an early favorite, but he does admit that he favors the SEC.

Former high school teammate and friend Devin Fosselman is on campus at Mississippi State now. The redshirt freshman receiver has shared some words of wisdom when it comes to recruting.

"He has told me it's a lot of work in college," said Voorhies. "He told me that he wants me to come up there with him.

"I am going to take my time with everything. I am looking forward to going up there to the camps and getting to know all of the coaches.

"I want to see all the drills they run and work on all of the techniques, so I can be a better player this year."
