Aurora (OH) outside linebacker Zach Smierciak continues to add offers to his list. His latest one comes after performing well on the camp scene.
"I've received an offer from Kent State," said Smierciak. "It was somewhat of a surprise. I went to the Chicagoland Showcase at Northwestern and performed very well while giving their coach an opportunity to see me compete. I believe that influenced their decision to offer me. I like that it's close to home."
Speaking of the Chicagoland Showcase, the OLB has been going to several other camps showing what he's got.
"This summer I've gone to Minnesota, Northwestern, Boston College, Indiana and Toledo. I believe I performed well at all of them. It was nice to travel to different places throughout the country and compete with kids from different areas. I believe I sized up well."
For now, the Smierciak has been working on improving his game before his final high school season.
"Right now I'm working on reading keys quicker and improving strength and speed. I believe the harder I work in the off-season, the easier it will be when it comes time to perform."
Stay with FOX Sports NEXT for the latest on Smierciak and the rest of the Class of 2013.
