Pettway Keeping Busy

Sam Pattway has been gaining a lot of exposure this summer, and he still has a full list of camps to hit in the coming weeks. He talks about his visit with Tulane, and his upcoming camps with Troy and Southern Miss in the coming weeks.

Sam Pettway is a defensive back from UMS-Wright in Mobile, Alabama. He's currently 6'0, 180, and was clocked at 4.5 at a recent camp.

He's been taking his visits and still has a lot more to do before the summer is up.

"I've still been working out at the school and have been participating in 7 on 7 work-outs like today, we had 6 teams come to our school and we had a little tournament over here," he said.

"I've picked up offers from Tulane and Northern Iowa, and I'm going up to Troy as well. I'm scheduled right now to come up to Hattiesburg on the 21st of July as well."

He said he's also getting called by the coaches of Wake Forest and Louisiana Tech as well.

"Right now I am wide open, but I took a trip down to Tulane and I really enjoyed that," he said. "They have all the majors that I want to major in, and I just really had a good visit."

He also spoke highly of what he sees in the Southern Miss program.

"Actually I went up to Southern Miss to a one day camp last season," he said. "They have a great set-up here as far as facilities and a winning tradition.

"I hear all about their program being that I have family that lives up there, and if I was to go there they would take care of me. I like the field and weight room and just the appeal of the overall program is really something I like."

Pettway describes himself as a corner that can lock down an offensive player, and as one who can get up and make a play on the ball when it is in the air. He can play both corner back and safety, and a guy who can make plays on special teams.

We'll continue to follow up with the star from Mobile as he takes in the camps over the next few weeks. Stay tuned to
